Odisha, which continued registering new cases and one death, has already extended the lockdown period to April 30, while Maharashtra and Kerala too are likely to follow the same.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in India rose to 6,412 with the newly reported 591 cases as on Friday (10th April) morning. According to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), the death toll has touched 199 now. The number of cured/discharged cases are 477 in the country.

Odisha announced that the state shall extend its quarantine period till April 30, becoming the first state to extend the 21-day lockdown period ending on April 14 as announced by PM Narendra Modi on March 24.

Globally the cases have risen to 15,96,496 with 3,54,006 recovered and killing 95,506. With 4,68,888 confirmed cases, US continued to be the most affected location out of 209 countries those are under the severity of the pandemic globally.
