COVID-19: Confirmed cases in India to touch 2000 soon; 47,200 deaths globally

On the ninth day of the 21-days national lockdown, confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in India have crossed 1800 standing at 1834 on Wednesday night. There was a large spike in the number of cases since Tuesday. The were only 1525 cases registered till yesterday morning. The pandemic, which has spread in more than 200 countries, has seen the death toll rising to 47200 so far. 41 people have died in India so far, the union ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.  In India, 143 patients have been cured.         

Globally, there have been over 9.3 lakh confirmed cases of COVID-19. Italy, France, and Spain have registered more deaths than China, where the outbreak started. With more than 2,16,154 cases, the US is the most affected country
