The third incidence of nCoV detected in Kasargod

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare India has announced a third positive incidence of the novel Coronavirus reported in Kasargod district of Kerala, on 3rd February 2020. The patient has travel history from Wuhan in China and is in isolation within the Kanjangad District Hospital.

Kerala Health Minister K.K Shylaja had confirmed the first nCoV case, which was identified as positive reportedly on January 30 from Thrissur. The second subsequent case was reported on 2nd February who is admitted to Alappuzha Medical College.

Isolation wards have been set up across the state since the confirmation of the first case by the Union government.

Until now, 104 samples of suspected cases have been sent from Kerala for testing to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) at Pune, of which 3 cases have shown positive.
