ZIFI-FCD breaks the Guinness World Record for the title of the ‘Most pledges received for health campaign of completing Antibiotic course’ , announced the company.
ZIFI-FDC took initiative to run the health campaign ‘SANKALP’, wherein the FDC Spectra Field force involving key stakeholders-patients, doctors, chemists and paramedical staff, concurred by taking the pledge for completion of the full course of antibiotic therapy.
The campaign was instigated to address the increasing public health concern of antibiotic resistance and antibiotic non-compliance.
ZIFI took the initiative to educate patients about the importance of completing the full course of antibiotic therapy to prevent antimicrobial resistance, and supported the health care professionals.
According to the company, about 5,69,057 pledges were taken by the collaborators, breaking the world record which was audited and approved by Guinness World Records.
Antimicrobial resistance has already emerged as a major threat to public health and is expected to cause 10 million deaths annually by 2050, according to a UK government review on AMR. Antibiotic non-compliance has been one of the major factors for AMR.
