Single-day rise in cases soon to touch 25K mark; India COVID tally reaches 6.48 lakh

India reported 22,771 new positive cases on Friday taking the nation’s COVID tally to 6,48,315. According to the data released by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, there are as many as 2,35,433 active cases as of now, while 3,94,227 have recovered. About 442 deaths were reported yesterday taking the toll to 18,655.

With (1,929,90) confirmed cases Maharashtra remains the most affected state followed by Tamil Nadu (1,027,21) and Delhi (9,46,95)

The total number of samples tested up to July 3 is 95,40,132 of which 2,42,383 samples were tested yesterday according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Over 11,197,173 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 infections have been reported across the world so far of which 4,325,127 are active cases. The U.S remains as the worst-hit nation reporting around 2,890,588 cases followed by Brazil (1,543,341) and Russia (667,883). India remains as the fourth most infected country .
