Single-day spike touching 25,000; India COVID-19 tally at 7 lakh

As predicted by Future Medicine in the week-end, the single-day spike in COVID-19 positive cases in India almost touched 25,000-mark on Sunday. With 24,912 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 tally reached 6,97,887 the previous night. This has taken the country to the position of the third worst-affected nation, surpassing Russia, by the pandemic globally. 

India also recorded 421 new COVID-19 related deaths taking the total toll to 19,684 as on Sunday. The number of active cases currently under treatment at various hospitals is about 2,53,287 and 4,24,432 patients have recovered after tested positive, according to the government data.
