COVID tally of India crosses 7.6 lakh; highest spike in cases seen breaching 25K mark on Wednesday

India recorded its biggest single-day spike on Wednesday with 25,530 new COVID-19 positive cases. The total confirmed cases in the country have reached 7,67,296 as on Thursday morning. Of these, 2,69,789 are active cases, and 4,76,378 people have either been cured, discharged or have migrated, as per the data from the Union Health Ministry. The country has lost 21,129 lives to the infection so far.

With 2,237,24 cases Maharashtra remains as the most affected state followed by Tamil Nadu with 122,350 cases and Delhi with 104,864 cases.

Globally there are 12,170,570 cases reported as of now. The U.S remains the top with 3,158,932 cases followed by Brazil (1,716,196) and India.
