India’s COVID-19 tally rose to 20.8 lakh on FridayAugust 8, 2020 0 By FM
The COVID-19 case tally of India rose to 20,88,612 after a record number of 62,538 daily-cases were seen in the last 24 hours. The active cases stood at 6,19,088, while the number of recoveries increased to 14,27,006 till Friday, according to data from the Health Ministry. With 926 more fatalities reported on Friday the toll rose to 42,518 as of now.
Maharashtra saw 10,483 new cases on Friday taking the total case tally to 4,90,262. The state also recorded 300 more fatalities, pushing its death toll to 17,092. The recoveries surged to 10,906 on the day.
Tamil Nadu registered 5,880 new COVID-19 cases and 119 fatalities on the day. The case tally of Andhra Pradesh stand at 2,069,60 of which 84,654 are active cases and 1,204,64 have been recovered.
Delhi on Friday reported 1,193 new cases, taking the caseload to 1,42,723. As many as 23 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total fatalities to 4,082. 1,108 people have recovered and the total number of recoveries stands at 1,28,232. There are currently 10,409 active cases in the city.
