India COVID tally at 7.2 million; 60K fresh cases on MondayOctober 13, 2020 0 By FM
India’s COVID caseload rose to 71,75,880 after reporting 55,342 fresh incidences on Monday. The active infections in the country stand at 8,38,729. A total of 62,27,295 patients have recovered so far. With 706 new deaths reported on Monday, the total fatalities of the pandemic have risen to 1,09,856.
Maharashtra reported 7,089 new covid cases taking the State’s cumulative tally to 15,35,315. The active cases stood at 2,12,905. The total recoveries have reached 12,81,896 with15,656 patients testing negative on Monday. The death toll due to the pandemic rose to 40,514 in the state.
Andhra Pradesh reported the lowest daily infections in about three months on Monday. It added 3,224 new cases and 32 deaths during the day. The total covid caseload in the state stood at 7,58,951 with 43,983 in the active infection load. As many as 7,08,712 patients have recovered from to date while 6,256 lives lost to the infection so far.
With 7,606 fresh cases reported on Monday Karnataka’s total case tally rose to 7,17,915. The active infections in the state stood at 1,15,795.
Kerala added 5,930 new positive cases taking its caseload close to 3 lakh reaching 2,95,132. The active infections stood at 94,473. The total recoveries in the State have reached 1,99,634 with 7,836 being cured/discharged yesterday. The overall fatalities rose to 1,025 with 22 new deaths.
According to the ICMR, a total of 8,89,45,107 samples were tested up to October 12, 2020, of which 10,73,014 samples were tested on October 12. The tests conducted across the country on Sunday stood below a million at 9,94,851 on October 11.
