With 49K new cases India’s COVID-19 count rises to 84.6 millionNovember 7, 2020 0 By FM
India reported 49,851 new COVID-19 cases on Friday pushing the cumulative caseload to 84,60,885. The total active infections add up to 5,14,901. The number of patients recovered from the disease has risen to 78,18,558 with 53,795 patients getting cured/discharged yesterday. The number of fatalities due to pandemic mounted to 1,25,605 in all with 576 new deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
Kerala reported 7,002 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, after testing 63,384 samples. The test positivity rate was 11.04%.The total caseload totalled 4,73,469 of which the active infections stood at 83,208. The state has seen 3,88,504 recoveries and 1,641 deaths from the infection so far.
Delhi, on Friday, reported a spike of 7,178 fresh COVID-19 incidences taking the case tally to 4,23,831. The active infections stood at 39,722. With 6,121 patients getting cured/discharged yesterday the overall recoveries rose to 3,77,276. The death toll mounted to 6,833 with 64 new deaths from the virus infection.
Maharashtra reported 6,870 new COVID-19 cases on Friday taking the total case tally to 17,10,314. The number of active cases has now come down to 1,02,099. With 161 deaths, the state’s death toll has reached 44,965. As many as 11,060 patients have been discharged during the day taking the total recoveries to 15,62,342.
West Bengal reported 3,942 new COVID-19 cases taking the total cases to 3,97,466.While the active cases dropped to 35,557, the percentage of positive cases out of the samples tested increased to 8.24%. As the state recorded 55 deaths, the fatality toll reached 7,177.
Karnataka on Friday reported 2,960 new cases and 35 new deaths. The overall case tally has reached 8,41,889 and the active cases stood at 33,319. The total recoveries seen till now has risen to 7,97,204 and the death toll climbed to 11,347 with 35 new deaths.
Andhra Pradesh added 2,410 new infections on Friday. The cumulative tally took to 8,38,363 with 21,825 active infections. The state has seen 8,09,770 recoveries and 6,768 deaths from COVID-19 to date.
