India’s COVID-19 count rises to 85 million with 557 fatalities on Saturday

India reported 46,153 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday pushing the cumulative caseload to 85,07,204. The total active infections add up to 5,11,922. The number of patients recovered from the disease has risen to 78,67,291 with 48,582 patients getting cured/discharged yesterday. The number of fatalities due to pandemic mounted to 1,26,163 in all with 557 new deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

Kerala reported 7,201 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday. The total caseload totalled 4,80,670 of which the active infections stood at 83,261. The state has seen 3,95,624 recoveries and 1,669 deaths from the infection so far.

Delhi, on Saturday, reported a spike of 6,953 fresh COVID-19 incidences taking the case tally to 4,30,784. The active infections stood at 40,258. With 6,338 patients getting cured/discharged yesterday the overall recoveries rose to 3,83,614. The death toll mounted to 6,912 with 64 new deaths from the virus infection.

Maharashtra reported 3,959 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday taking the total case tally to 17,14,273. The number of active cases went below 1 lakh reaching 99,151. With 150 deaths, the state’s death toll has reached 45,115. As many as 6,748 patients have been discharged during the day taking the total recoveries to 15,69,090.

West Bengal reported 3,928 new COVID-19 cases taking the total cases to 4,01,394.The active cases dropped to 35,088. As the state recorded 58 deaths, the fatality toll reached 7,235.

Karnataka on Saturday reported 2,258 new cases and 22 new deaths. The overall case tally has reached 8,44,147 and the active cases stood at 33,320. The total recoveries seen till now has risen to 7,99,439 and the death toll climbed to 11,369 with 22 new deaths.

Andhra Pradesh added 2,367 new infections on Saturday. The cumulative tally took to 8,40,730 with 21,434 active infections. The state has seen 8,12,517 recoveries and 6,779 deaths from COVID-19 to date.
