India’s active COVID-19 cases tailed off to reach 3,30,395 as on Tuesday. With the recent positively tested cases at 26,251, the overall confirmed covid incidences in the nation have risen to 99,32,908. While 383 fatalities took the death toll to 1,44,130. As many as 33,853 patients were reported as recovered yesterday taking the total recoveries to 94,55,793 in the country so far. The national recovery rate has further escalated to 95.12 per cent, according to the Union health ministry.
Kerala reported the highest daily new cases at 5,218 on Tuesday. As many as 5,066 recoveries and 33 deaths were registered during the day. The number of active cases now stands at 57,757, while 6,16,666 patients have recovered from the viral infection.
As the Kerala local body elections results are being announced on Wednesday, the state has been advised to stick on to the pandemic protocol at all 16 counting centres in the district. Victory celebrations involving large crowds and vehicle rallies should be avoided once the results of the local body polls are out, Thiruvanthapuram district collector Navjot Khosa said.
Maharashtra reported 3,442 new COVID-19 cases, and 70 deaths yesterday. The total active cases stand at 71,356 with 17,66,010 recoveries and 48,339 deaths reported so far. The state’s recovery rate rose marginally to 93.60%.
“Of a total 1,18,06,808 laboratory samples tested thus far, 18,86,807 have returned positive with nearly 58,000 samples being tested in the last 24 hours,” said State Surveillance Officer Dr Pradeep Awate. The case positivity rate of the state stood at 15.98% and the case fatality rate stands at 2.56%.
Dr Awate informed that currently, 5,24,059 persons across the state were in home quarantine and 4,316 were in institutional quarantine. facilities.
Delhi reported 1,617 new incidences, 2,343 recoveries, and 41 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total positive cases in the capital have reached 6,10,447, including 5,85,852 recoveries, 10,115 deaths, and 14,480 active cases. A total of 85,105 COVID-19 tests were done in the past 24 hours.
The positivity of COVID-19 cases was 1.9% on Tuesday, way below the average daily positivity in November, which was 11.65%. The overall positivity till now was 8.28%.
Out of the total 18,807 beds available for COVID-19 treatment in the city, 14,770 are vacant, as per the official report. About 4,040 people were admitted in hospitals and 8,516 patients were under home isolation. The death rate in the past 10 days was 2.59%. There are 6,420 containment zones in the city as on Tuesday.
Karnataka reported 1,185 new COVID-19 cases, 1,594 discharges, and 11 deaths on Tuesday. Total cases in the state reached 9,03,425, including 8,75,796 recoveries and 11,965 deaths. Active cases in the state stand at 15,645.
A total of 1,132 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths were reported in Tamil Nadu yesterday. State Health Department said the total positive cases in the state have reached 8,01,161, including 7,79,291 recoveries and 11,919 deaths. The active cases in the state stand at 9,951.
