COVID-19 tally in India crosses 1 million on Thursday

The total reported number of COVID-19 cases in India crossed the 1,000,000 (10 lakh) mark on Thursday as more than 35,000 new cases were registered on the day. The total confirmed cases now stand at 10,05,531, according to the data reported by state governments, of which 3,433,45 are active cases. As many as 6,365,67 has been recovered so far. The toll from the disease stands at 25,619.

Maharashtra continued as the worst affected state with 2,842,81 reported cases so far, followed by Tamil Nadu (1,563,69) and Delhi (1,186,45).

According to the global database of the World Health Organisation, there are more than 13 crore COVID cases reported across the world so far touching 13,378,853. Of these more than 3.4 million people have so far been infected in the United States which is the most affected country, followed by Brazil 1.92 million and India.
