COVID-19 incidences on Friday reach 38,705August 7, 2021 0 By FM
India reported 38,705 new COVID-19 incidences on Friday. With as many as 616 fatalities were recorded on the day, the overall number of deaths reported in the country due to the pandemic escalated to 4,27,401. The country recorded 3,18,94,492 cases so far, of which the active infection load comprised 4,06,317 cases, according to data from the union health ministry.
With 19,948 new incidences, Kerala recorded the highest number of daily Covid cases on Friday. The total number of infections has reached 35,13,551, active infections comprised1,78,203 cases. As many as 187 deaths were recorded during the day taking the total fatalities to 17,515.
Maharashtra recorded 5,539 new cases on Friday. The state also recorded 187 new deaths taking the total number of fatalities from COVID-19 to 1,33,717 in the state. The total cases reported from the state has reached 63,41,759, of which 74,483 are active cases.
Other states which reported more than 1000 cases on Friday included Andhra Pradesh (2,209), Tamil Nadu (1,985), Karnataka (1,805) and Odisha (1,208).
