KareXpert launches AI-ready, EHR system for hospitals in IndiaOctober 19, 2020
The digital health venture KareXpert has launched a new integrated, cloud-based platform with built-in electronic health records (EHR) in India, that will enable hospitals to go paperless.
At present, most hospitals in India are still depending on paper-based medical records and use verbal procedures to communicate among doctors and nurses for patient treatment. This may result in a lack of transparency and accountability, error-prone treatment, non-integrated patient health records and poor collaboration among doctors. These challenges can make it difficult for doctors to diagnose the patient’s condition accurately, leading to longer consultation time and at times wrong diagnosis.
The new platform is AI-ready and can support doctors, nurses and patients on mobile and desktop devices, by compiling data involving computerised physician order entry and medication administration request, patient health record (PHR), and enabling telehealth, pharmacy management, and a COVID-19 Outbreak Management Platform, announced the company.
The platform supports multi-facility location hospitals to have integrated EHR per patient on a real-time basis. It supports OP. IP, ER, ICU, OT, pre/post-surgery workflows.
KareXpert comes with a pre-integrated data lake, where the hospital’s AI data model of choice can be used, enabling it to be utilsed in research by having a single data view of all anonymised patient records. It is hoped this will help with identifying disease patterns and inventing new clinical and treatment procedures while keeping patient data safe.
The digital integration of EHR meets the aims of the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) launched by the Government of India in 2019, which seeks to improve access to healthcare by digitising the sector, said the company.
